A House study committee focusing on youth exposure to kratom will be back at work Friday. The goal of the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Youth Exposure to Kratom and Retail-Available Substances is to strengthen protections, reduce access and create healthier outcomes for Georgia’s youth.

This will be the third meeting of the committee and will be held at 9 a.m. at the Georgia Center in Athens.

During their second meeting last month in Brunswick, committee members heard presentations on kratom regulation and youth nicotine use as well as public testimony about the personal impacts of kratom and other retail-available substances.
