Tourism is one of Georgia’s largest economic contributors, generating $84.1 billion in statewide economic impact—and the numbers continue to grow. For the fourth consecutive year, the state has set another tourism record and has grabbed the nation’s No. 5 ranking for domestic overnight visitation for the sixth year in a row, according to Gov. Brian Kemp. The announcement came during the annual Georgia Governor’s Tourism Conference where Kemp was joined by officials from the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD).

Kemp reported that a record 175.6 million domestic and international visitors in calendar year 2025 spent $46.2 billion on Georgia’s lodging, restaurants, transportation, and other local businesses, surpassing the previous record set in 2024 by more than 2 percent. Those tourism dollars generated $5.3 billion in state and local tax revenues, saving each Georgia household nearly $1,300 in annual taxes on average. The state’s tourism-supported workforce rose to 473,837 direct, indirect, and induced jobs, accounting for one in every 15 Georgia jobs.
