Agriculture is the number one industry in Georgia. Delta is among its top companies. Bringing the two together would be a big benefit to both for the state. To that end, this week the Georgia Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Coalition was announced as a new partnership focused on making the state a national leader in sustainable aviation fuel research and production. The Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia Forestry Association and Delta Air Lines are all founding organizations, bringing together expertise from across disciplines to increase domestic production of viable biofuels, opening a new revenue avenue for Georgia Grown agriculture and forestry.

“This is about aligning Georgia’s natural strengths with real market demand,” said Katie Kirkpatrick, president and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “Georgia is making a serious play for a piece of the emerging sustainable aviation fuel market. By bringing global companies, producers, researchers, and the agricultural community all to the same table, we are building a powerful biofuels ecosystem that serves the entire state and connects us to the world.”
