An ongoing investigation into former Atlanta Municipal Clerk Foris Webb III is hitting roadblocks, as city employees are delaying or rejecting interviews by the inspector general. Webb received more than $900,000 in consulting fees from the city for his “work” on a referendum meant to block the city’s law enforcement training center, dubbed “Cop City.” That referendum got held up in court, never wound up doing anything, and the center was built, but Webb continued to cash a $35,000 check each month. Georgia’s largest county– Fulton– has Democrat Mo Ivory running for County Commission chair. This year, she was the sole commissioner to vote for a tax hike. Now she has new spending plans that could cause property taxes to soar by 40 percent! Republican Bridget Thorne is challenging Ivory– and Thorne is endorsed by the outgoing Democrat chair because they oppose any hike.
