Georgia’s own U.S. Representative Doug Collins was in the national spotlight last week, questioning FBI Director James Comey during an oversight hearing on Democratic Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton’s infamous missing e-mail scandal.
Collins was aggressive off the bat, pressing Comey on why the Democratic nominee wasn’t being prosecuted on any criminal charges when in other similar cases violators accused of releasing classified documents were having charges pressed against them.
Comey repeatedly rebuffed the Congressman, denying that enough evidence was ever present to press charges. Collins continued to push on the point though, saying that “she, (Clinton) either is the most arrogant, which probably so, or the most insanely naive person we’ve ever met”.
With many American citizens still frustrated with the Clinton email saga, and GOP nominee Donald Trump using it as a sticking point in his debates with the former First Lady, the issue has become one of the most visible of the entire campaign. Unfortunately for Republicans, it’s shaping up to be an argument that won’t be resolved before election day. The final words between the two men summed it all up, with the FBI Director saying, “We’ll just have to agree to disagree” and Collins responding, “well, unfortunately there’s a lot to disagree with on this”.
