Georgia residents may have had to chip in a good $600 million in tax dollars to build downtown Atlanta’s new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but they’ll be getting some of that back in the form of the cheapest concession prices in the country.
Falcons owner Arthur Blank promised the low prices for at least the first season, voicing his desire to give fans a better experience by not making them pay up for $10 beers and $8 hot dogs, an all too common complaint at sporting events. While the personal seat licenses will still cost a pretty penny, sweetening the pot with $2 cokes and pretzels has made the new stadium the envy of fanbases across the country.
The prices will hold for all events at the stadium, including college football games, Atlanta United soccer matches, and concerts. Mercedes-Benz is slated to open on August 26th of this year for a Falcons preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals, with the first meaningful action coming the following week when the University of Alabama squares off against the Florida State University in a matchup of college football blue bloods.
