Unsurprisingly, one of the first industries to feel the impact of the coronavirus epidemic has been in shipping, where the Georgia Ports Authority is reporting “a precipitous drop in imports.” Chinese factories and supply lines were shut down due to the virus, and while they are beginning to come back online the ripple effect has impacted shipping lines across the globe. Hopefully those numbers begin to tick back up soon, but for now Georgia’s shipping industry is SINKING…
Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120.
