Gov. Brian Kemp on Wednesday issued an executive order prohibiting “vacation rentals” from now through April 30. That means that any rental that was reserved or executed before noon yesterday is exempted from the prohibition. Law enforcement officials around the state warn that anyone in violation will be charged with a misdemeanor crime. In this regard, Georgians should check reservations currently in place and cancel those that do not apply within the guidelines of the executive order.
Also pay attention to the order as it plainly states that any rental currently in place or reserved through the date of the order must be paid in full or it must be canceled.
The governor also extended the current “Public Health State of Emergency” through May 30 and the “Shelter in Place” remains in effect through April 30. A reminder: Pursuant to O.C.G.A.§38-3-7, it is a misdemeanor crime to violate any of the governor’s executive orders.
