Former state Rep. Jeff Lewis, currently challenging incumbent state Sen. Chuck Hufstetler, R-Rome, in the GOP primary, finds his campaign potentially on ice this week after an administrative court judge recommended that he be disqualified for not filing proper campaign disclosure reports. Lewis was found not to have filed any reports since 2012, but still had some $75,000 in his campaign account which has been unaccounted for since. Lewis is challenging the ruling, which goes to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office, but his odds of remaining on the ballot are SINKING…
Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120. It remains to be seen how successful these new degrees will be, but another option for students, and one that could help stave off the “enrollment cliff” has Georgia colleges and their students RISING…
