Legendary former Georgia state Rep. Calvin Smyre has had his ambassadorship nomination to the Bahamas rejected by the U.S. Senate once again, returning it to President Joe Biden. This is the second time the Senate has failed to confirm the nomination after first being tapped in 2021. Smyre has though, has still made an impact after leaving the legislature, serving as a Biden-appointee to the United Nations General Assembly. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.” The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
