As the last zoo in the U.S. to have Giant Pandas in captivity, amateur zoologists from across the nation are flocking to Zoo Atlanta for one last glimpse of the black and white beasts before they’re returned home to China later this year. Over the past three months zoo attendance has been up 21 percent over last year, with the spike in guests attributed to Lun Lun and Yang Yang, the original breeding couple that became one of America’s great conservation stories over the past 20 years as they bore seven cubs in total, a huge boon for a species that remains critically endangered in the wild. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
