Bad blood between Fulton County and City of Atlanta officials led to animal control services being cut off in the city starting last Friday. Cities located within Fulton pay the county to oversee animal control, and that rate recently jumped substantially. While Fulton’s 14 other municipalities agreed to the new charges, there has been a disagreement with Atlanta that led to services being put on hold. The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
