The Valdosta State University debate team emerged victorious as the inaugural winner of the University System of Georgia’s (USG) Regents Cup Debate Series. The tournament was started with the idea of showing how students from different backgrounds can can communicate and articulate from different perspectives in a persuasive, respectful way, with students from six USG institutions competing in front of judges that included former Gov. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
