The First Responder Network Authority awarded Dallas Police Chief Joe Duvall the Patriot Award for his outstanding commitment to public safety and pioneering innovations in Paulding County public safety communications. Duvall migrated his entire department to FirstNet, including patrol and dispatch operations, becoming the first agency in the state — and one of the first in the nation — to switch from land mobile radios to broadband communications. Under the leadership of this 38-year-old law enforcement veteran, Dallas has also been recognized in the top five percent of safest cities in Georgia.
