Former First Lady Sandra Deal was a tireless advocate for education, notably reading to students in all 159 Georgia counties during her husband’s time in office as a way to promote early childhood literacy. She passed away in 2022, but her legacy will live on in the form of the brand new Sandra Dunagan Deal Elementary School in Gainesville. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
