Judge rejects Catoosa GOP effort

U.S. District Judge Billy Ray this week dismissed an effort from right-leaning group the Georgia Republican Assembly, which sought to allow the Catoosa County GOP to disqualify four candidates for the county Board of Commissioners.  The group has been trying to get laws passed to let party leaders to choose which candidates to allow on primary ballots, with the ability to bar those who don’t pass certain “accountability” rules.  But those efforts have so far been unsuccessful, and another dismissed lawsuit has the push SINKING…
