If you’ve been keeping up with ballot access in Georgia for November’s presidential election, you might be getting whiplash! Last month, an administrative law judge agreed with a series of lawsuits from Democrat-led groups that independent candidates Cornel West and Claudia De la Cruz, as well as the Green Party’s Jill Stein, be removed from ballots due to improper qualification. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger overruled that decision, leaving them on the ballots as they went to print. Now Fulton County judges have reversed THAT decision, ruling that West and De la Cruz must be removed (Stein will be allowed to stay). But since 110 counties have already printed ballots, the candidates’ names will likely still appear, though votes for them will not count. All this late ballot confusion has Georgia voters SINKING…
Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.” The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
