After a string of years that saw a shocking increase in Atlanta’s violent crime rate – particularly homicides – the FBI had good news this week when new data showed homicides dropped 21% percent in Atlanta in 2023 over 2022. That’s better than the national rate, which saw a 12% decrease overall. So far in 2024 homicides in Atlanta are also down from last year but by a lesser number, some 11%. Hopefully violent crimes continue to fall and keep Atlantans’ safety RISING…
Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.” The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
