City of Brookhaven officials were taken aback when they first learned that their MARTA station – located right next to City Hall – was set to be closed for six weeks for renovations. That’s because they found out about it at the same time as the public, through a press release. “This is the first I’ve heard of this at all!” said Brookhaven City Council member Jennifer Owens. The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
