A Republican-led U.S. Senate bill to prevent boys from participating in girls’ sports failed to overcome a filibuster on Monday after it didn’t reach the necessary 60-vote threshold to advance. The bill failed by a vote of 51-45— with all Democrats including Georgians Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock voting no. The “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act” would require Title IX to treat gender as “recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.” Polls indicate over 80 percent of the American people support passage of the ban, so the backlash against Ossoff and Warnock have them SINKING…
Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
