Atlanta’s greatest July 4th tradition is the Peachtree Road Race. Started in 1970 by the Atlanta Track Club, the inaugural race had just 110 runners.  By the end of the decade it was the largest 10k race in the world – a title it hasn’t relinquished since.  More than 70,000 amateur and professional runners will take part today on the classic road course on Peachtree Street, competing for prizes, pride, or just to collect this year’s coveted t-shirt.  RISING…
