The monumental merger between railroad giants Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific spells bad news for workers at the former company’s Atlanta headquarters.  With Union Pacific purchasing Norfolk Southern, it plans to cut Atlanta operations by about half, and move many jobs to its Omaha, Nebraska HQ.  Norfolk Southern moved to Atlanta from Virginia only seven years ago, and opened its gleaming Midtown office overlooking the Connector in 2021.  But assuming the merger goes through, the building will likely be put up for sale and leave Georgia-based employees SINKING…
