Amidst a season of trials and tribulation, the Kennesaw State University men’s basketball team is returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023. The team, led by Head Coach Antoine Pettway, lost its leading scorer from last year to the transfer portal, lost two more key players to injury before the season, and then lost its star player Simeon Cottle when he was indicted on federal point shaving charges! Nonetheless, the Owls persisted, notching multiple upsets en route to winning the Conference USA Tournament and earning a bid. Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop. But now the Atlanta City Council is pushing back, with 11 councilmembers, led by Atlanta City Councilwoman Kelsea Bond signing onto a resolution signaling support for the idea.
