A new study reports that the University System of Georgia (USG) generated a record $25.1 billion for the state’s economy in Fiscal Year 2025 – an 8.9% increase over last year. The study also found that USG generated 170,096 jobs across Georgia, and that bachelor’s graduates will earn $1.4 million more than they would without a degree over the course of their careers. Questions linger over Atlanta City Hall investigation
An ongoing investigation into former Atlanta Municipal Clerk Foris Webb III is hitting roadblocks, as city employees are delaying or rejecting interviews by the inspector general. Webb received more than $900,000 in consulting fees from the city for his “work” on a referendum meant to block the city’s law enforcement training center, dubbed “Cop City.” That referendum got held up in court, never wound up doing anything, and the center was built, but Webb continued to cash a $35,000 check each month.
