InsiderAdvantage CEO/Fox5 Political Analyst Matt Towery: “Whatever political damage Governor Deal sustained in the first storm of a few weeks ago ‘melted away’ with his take-charge approach with this second storm.
“Deal received high marks from every political affiliation. But where he made his greatest progress was among independent voters. Sixty-nine percent of independent voters approved of Deal’s handling of the storm. That is a massive shift from the low approval rating these key swing voters gave to Governor Deal after the first storm.
“In fact, every demographic group gave Deal an approval of more than 50% for his handling of the storm. This may prove to be one of the biggest moments of his years as governor and might prove a true turning point in his race for reelection. We will have more.
