One advantage of a small(er) political party is it is likely a lot less messy in choosing candidates. There are only so many to choose from and often it is a natural fit for who should slot in where. In the case of the Libertarian Party of Georgia, who held their state convention last week, they have their slate for November and there are a handful of names that may sound familiar.

Ossoff joins Grassley in bill to crack down on prison contraband

Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff has been working on Federal prison issues basically since taking office. Likely spurred by a number of woes at the Atlanta prison, Ossoff has worked with U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-TN, on protecting prison staff from sexual assault and harassment, as well as sponsored a bill to increase oversight of the federal prison system.

Voter List Integrity Act clears first hurdle in Ga. House

A bill that removes Georgia from the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) system is making its way through the House of Representatives. House Bill 215 by state Rep. Martin Momtahan, R-Dallas, has cleared the House Governmental Affairs Committee and now heads to the Rules Committee.

Tort reform 2.0 clears Georgia Senate

The state Senate unanimously passed a narrowly tailored tort reform bill Thursday, a week after approving broader, more controversial legislation encompassing most of a civil justice system overhaul Gov. Brian Kemp has made his top priority for 2025.

Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention

The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.  Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.”  The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
