Kemp to lead trade mission to Belgium, U.K.

In 2024, both Belgium and the United Kingdom ranked among Georgia’s top 15 trade partners by dollar value, and Governor Brian Kemp says he is committed to reinforcing the economic relations with both. Tuesday, Kemp announced that he and First Lady Marty Kemp will lead an international mission to Belgium and the U.K.

Lt. Gov. Burt Jones pushing child tax credit and childcare tax program 

Lt. Governor Burt Jones this week announced another priority for this year’s legislative session, creating a child tax credit in Georgia and an expansion of childcare tax programs. With lead sponsor Sen. Brian Strickland (R-42 McDonough), the bill has some bipartisan support, including Sen. Bo Hatchett (R-50 Cornelia) – one of Governor Brian Kemp’s floor leaders and Sen. Elena Parent (D-44 Atlanta) – Minority Caucus Chair.

Senate introduces two new bills to address legislative priorities

Georgia Senators introduced two bills this week that address priority issues for the 2025 Legislative Session. Sen. Brian Strickland, R-McDonough, filed legislation creating a child tax credit and expanding childcare tax programs, and Sen. Russ Goodman, R-Cogdell, introduced the “Fentanyl Eradication and Removal Act” which would establish stiffer criminal penalties for fentanyl offenses.

Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
