State rep. asks DHS to consider additional SNAP improvements

Several weeks ago, state Rep. Marvin Lim, D-Norcross, sent a letter to the Georgia Department of Human Services asking the agency to explain certain mental health parity reports. Now the Atlanta area Democrat is asking DHS to consider additional changes as they work to lower Georgia’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payment error rate.

Savannah airport gets new aviation safety training tool

The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) is getting an upgrade that officials say will increase safety, reduce delays and modernize air travel. U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-GA, announced recently that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $7.6 million to replace the current air traffic control training system at the airport. The funding is part of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2024.

Georgia lawmakers back the Braves

As the Atlanta Braves continue their playoff battle with the LA Dodgers, a group of Georgia lawmakers are backing them in a battle of their own.  U.S. Reps. Brian Jack and Lucy McBath, along with U.S. Sen.
