Speaker of the House Jon Burns, R-Newington, has committed to tax relief during this session of the Georgia General Assembly. Wednesday, on the 8th day of the 2026 Legislative session, Burns introduced “historic property tax relief.” According to Burns, the HOME Act will eliminate homestead property taxes statewide by 2032, all while keeping currently implemented property tax exemptions intact.
