Brian Kemp this week will “streamline Georgia’s transportation governance structure by dismantling the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) and reconstructing the Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority (ATL) into a single entity focused on efficiency and limited government.”

Republicans need to make up early voting gap

Georgia is about to end its early primary voting with good numbers for Democrats. Per statistics from http://georgiavotes.com/, so far in the 2026 primary election, 1,023,307 people have voted. At this point in the 2022 primary election, that number was 859,897.

House passes Collins’ permitting reform package

U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, R-GA, saw his third bill passed through the House of Representatives late last week – H.R. 3898, the PERMIT Act – which is designed to cut red tape, streamline review processes, and make permitting under the Clean Water Act (CWA) more efficient and transparent.

One day after two special elections, state sets date for another

Fresh off two special elections Tuesday – including a shocking upset in Athens – another special election is looming in Georgia. Wednesday morning, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger issued a Call for Special Election to fill the state Senate District 18 seat left open by the registration of Sen. John Kennedy, R-Macon, who is resigning to focus on his campaign for lt. governor.

Georgia House members pleased with NDAA passage

By an overwhelming vote of 312-112, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act on Wednesday. The Georgia delegation was somewhat split on the bill – all but one Republican voted yes (give you one guess which Republican that was) and Reps. Sanford Bishop (D-GA 2) and Lucy McBath (D-GA 7) were the two Democrats out of five to vote in favor.

Kemp announces new Rural Site Development Grants

Gov. Brian Kemp has announced the latest round of grants for the Rural Site Development Initiative, the third round of grants for the program that aims to boost rural economic development. The $4.3 million in this round takes the total committed to the program since its launch two years to $21 million.

Could Paramount be coming to Georgia?

Paramount Skydance, one of the biggest and most prominent entertainment companies in the world, is furious at its home state of California over a lawsuit filed by the state’s attorney general attempting to stop a merger.  In response, Chair David Ellison has threatened to move from Los Angeles to a state not actively suing his company, and Georgia was on the shortlist of possibilities.  Gov.
