A pair of bills introduced in the U.S. House last week look to make some reforms in the judicial world. The bills are not related per se, though there is some overlap, but it is notable that two Georgia congressman have introduced separate legal legislation that would mean major changes to U.S. courts.

Bishop bill seeks to improve military housing

U.S. Reps. Sanford Bishop, D-GA, and Jen Kiggans, R-VA, have introduced the Military Housing Performance Insight Act. The bill’s aim is to increase oversight of the Military Housing Privatization Initiative, working to make Congressional reports publicly available regarding the Defense Department program to privatize military housing located on military installations.

Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention

The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.  Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.”  The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
