What was supposed to be a three hour tour turned into an extended race in HD 24, as former CIA analyst Sherri Gilligan came up only 2 votes short in the special election, sending the race to a runoff which is being held today. Gilligan, with her record of community involvement, seems to have the edge over trial lawyer David Van Sant, but with turnout numbers expected to be well below 10% anything can happen, especially if the weather starts getting rough.
