Atlanta United, the city’s new Major League Soccer team, is set to kick off in 2017.  A bit lost in all the news of new stadiums and new owners was the fact that the team still needed to find a practice facility somewhere in the area.  The first attempt to find a suitable plot of land in DeKalb County fell through last month, so the team moved on, and found a welcoming home in Cobb, where the Marietta City Council voted 6-1 to approve zoning off Franklin Road for offices, fields, and training facilities.  The question, as it was in DeKalb, (and why the deal fell through) is what will this cost taxpayers?  Until that question is answered, the situation is DRIFTING…
