Ashley Bell

President Donald Trump this week chose native Georgian Ashley Bell to be the next Small Business Association (SBA) Southeast Regional Director.  Bell, who previously served as a senior strategist with the RNC and then as a key member of the Trump/Pence transition team, has long been a favorite of the White House, now becoming the administration’s first minority appointment to a SBA regional position.

The former Hall County Commission vice chair had his sights set overseas as a special assistant to both the State Department and as associate director of external affairs for the Peace Corps, but now turns his focus back home as he heads up the SBA for eight southeastern states.

Bell will be sworn in next Monday at the SBA’s Atlanta office by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle, with high profile supporters in attendance to include State Sen. Lester Jackson III, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, and various business and civic leaders.

Said Bell on his new position, “The SBA plays a critical role in helping to start and grow businesses.  Now, more than ever, the economy is growing and we must do our part to help America’s small businesses.”

“I’ve enjoyed my time serving our country in foreign affairs the last year with both the State Dept. and at the Peace Corps,” he continued, “I’m honored that the administration gave me this opportunity to come back to Georgia in helping to create jobs and opportunities in the southeast.”
