History was made in Cobb County Monday as Joyette Holmes was sworn into office by Brian Kemp, making her Cobb County’s first black district attorney. Fani Willis to skip Senate hearing
Attorneys for Fulton Co. District Attorney Fani Willis say she plans to ignore a pair of subpoenas and skip a scheduled Georgia Senate special committee hearing later today. The move will no doubt enrage GOP lawmakers and set up a courtroom battle, likely in the Georgia Court of Appeals over the legality of Legislature-ordered subpoenas, with Willis’ attorneys arguing they are void because they were issued after the 2024 legislative session.
