Another twist in the ongoing federal corruption investigation at Atlanta City Hall saw former Atlanta Chief Financial Officer Jim Beard involved in a scheme to procure military grade rifles. New documents from the investigation show that Beard used city funds to purchase a pair of fully-automatic rifles, saying they were for police use. Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120.
