Athens may not be as big as Nashville or Los Angeles, but it has a similar cultural richness, particularly in regards to its music industry. Soon Athens will have its own memorial to some of the bands who have contributed to the town’s music scene in the form of a “music walk of fame” in downtown. Atlanta paid deadbeat $910,00 for virtually no work
It’s outrageous that Atlanta taxpayers paid Foris Webb $910,000 for two years even though he produced little record any “work.” After reviewing invoices and emails, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution found he was supposed to be overseeing a petition calling for a vote on the Atlanta police/fire training center. Yet by the time the “consulting contract” was discovered and payments were being made, the center had opened, the referendum never occurred and petition signatures were forgotten.
