The University System of Georgia Board of Regents approved the establishment of the John H. “Johnny” Isakson Chair for Parkinson’s Research at the University of Georgia. The university has already raised $1.6 million to establish the chair, which will fund research and help develop treatments for Parkinson’s Disease, which Isakson was diagnosed with in 2015 and which caused him to retire from the U.S. Senate last year. Proposed Fulton Co. property tax hike
Fulton County homeowners let out a collective groan Monday following the announcement that property taxes will be increasing by more than 12% over the rollback millage rate. The hike, per the over the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, is to increase funding for the 2025 General Fund.
