Starting since last Friday, consecutive nights of largely peaceful Atlanta demonstrations have at times devolved into scenes of property damage and rioting. Police have in turn used tear gas and arrests to end the chaos. Atlanta has also been placed under a 9 p.m. curfew– and the city’s ship has been SINKING. That’s why the Corey Companies, located in downtown Atlanta across from the Capitol, displayed on its prominent tower an electric sign reading “Just Be Nice.” The big question: Can that simple plea lead to hope for eventual peace to be RISING?…
