President Donald Trump, running unopposed Tuesday in Georgia’s GOP primary for his party’s presidential nomination, racked up impressive numbers that put the lie to recent polls showing him in a weak position with presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. With 81 percent of the votes counted last night, Trump rolled up 714,848 votes to 672,351 for Biden and for the other Democratic presidential candidates. (Biden received 561,011.) Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120.
