This week Savannah Mayor Van Johnson issued an executive order mandating that residents wear masks when out in public or risk fines. This coming in the wake of a COVID-19 case uptick as the state has reopened. Meanwhile Gov. Brian Kemp has stopped short, strongly encouraging all Georgians to wear a mask, but saying that a mask-wearing order is a “bridge too far.” That said, he is currently on a two-day, six-city “Wear a Mask” tour with Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Kathleen Toomey – so his stance is clear. ICE operation catches criminals
During the Biden administration illegal immigrants overwhelmed systems ranging from healthcare to schools. Illegal alien street gangs flourished. Now, though, Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced the results of an enhanced immigration enforcement operation throughout Georgia. “Operation Safe Community” yielded 1,226 immigration arrests in recent weeks. Of those individuals who snuck across our borders, 720 had been convicted or charged with crimes in the U.S. According to ICE, the criminal histories of the arrested aliens include sex crimes, crimes against children, aggravated assault, assault and battery, drug crimes, lewd and lascivious acts, weapons crimes and burglary.
