The Georgia Chamber this week announced the grand opening of its third state office in Brunswick, in partnership with the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce. The office will help serve the Golden Isles and all of Georgia’s coast, which has boomed in recent years, buoyed in large part by its ports. Moldova soon to be welcoming a Georgian
It is rare for a native-born Georgian to serve as an ambassador to a foreign nation, but J. Mark Burkhalter is one of that elite having been nominated by President Donald Trump and then just confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be U.S. ambassador to the Republic of Moldova. The Alpharetta native represented north Fulton County in the General Assembly for 18 years and briefly served as speaker of the House of Representatives. A successful real estate developer, Burkhalter is a University of Georgia alum with a double major in German and Slavic Languages, and Global Studies/Political Science.
