During the height of the COVID pandemic many Georgia cities created open container policies in their downtowns, allowing patrons to move freely with their beverages.  In Decatur, near Atlanta, the the plan was such a success that city officials have made open container laws permanent and expanded the areas where they are allowed.  More cities should take note – the laws help restaurants, many of which are still struggling, and the potential downsides that could accompany public drinking have not materialized.  The move has Decatur RISING…
