The 2022 legislative session is just getting started, but already some key pieces of legislation are making major strides through the Capitol.  HB 841, which seeks to give Cobb voters the choice to split off into the new city of East Cobb, passed out of the House Governmental Affairs Committee Thursday with bipartisan support.  That will send it to the full House (and then Senate) for a vote, and if passed there could be on the ballot as soon as November.  East Cobb would become the third largest city in the county, granting residents greater local control.  For proponents of the movement, and those of other cityhood proposals awaiting their own committee hearings, positive and easy steps forward have them RISING…
