Atlanta Beltline Rail in doubt

In 2016 Atlanta voters approved a half-penny sales tax for transit that promised to raise billions of dollars for infrastructure improvements and expansion.  A major part of that project wish list was light rail along the city’s popular Beltline, an urban path that has been a key part of the city’s economic development plans over the past decade.  A new study though has indicated that the planned light rail, which would extend from Ponce City Market to MARTA’s Lindbergh station, would cost more than twice as much as originally projected, potentially throwing a wrench into the plan altogether.  The news has Beltline transit’s future DRIFTING…
