The cavalry has arrived in the legal battle over two Cobb County cityhood efforts. Lawsuits seeking to prevent Vinings and Lost Mountain cityhood questions from being listed on the May 24th ballots, questioning their constitutionality under the principle of “home rule.” Now Attorney General Chris Carr and state Rep. Ginny Ehrhart (R-Marietta) have joined the fray, with Carr’s office entering both cases as a concerned party looking to back the bills, and Ehrhart asking to be admitted as a defendant in the Lost Mountain case as the original bill’s primary sponsor. Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120.
