Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan was on hand last week to dedicate a sprawling, new 68-megawatt solar power facility in Houston County, just off I-75 near Perry in Middle Georgia. The project is the seventh utility-scale solar facility in the state to be brought online by Green Power EMC and Silicon Ranch, and will provide enough power to serve more than 11,000 EMC customers. Students from the Houston County School District will help tend to sheep that will maintain the grass underneath the hundreds of solar panels.
