PSC elections paused – again…

The U.S. Supreme Court late last week ruled that Georgia’s Public Service Commission races must be put on hold and will not appear on the November ballot.  The ruling comes following a lawsuit from Democratic voting groups that claimed that the PSC’s unusual elections system, (implemented in 1998 by a Democratic-majority legislature) featuring five districts but holding a statewide vote, was intentionally diluting the black vote.  That ruling saw two PSC races in November suspended – then reinstated following an order from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.  Now that ruling has been overturned and the elections are on the backburner again, and it’s unclear when voters will have their say.  This elections mess has Georgia voters SINKING…
