In 2018 the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office caught Darrell Oliver, an alleged serial rapist.  The DA’s office took him to trial three separate times, but lost each case.  Those losses prompted Augusta District Attorney Jared Williams to restructure his office and create a new Major Crimes Division, which will tackle difficult violent and sexual crimes in his district.  The new SVU prosecutors last week got Oliver in court again, where he was convicted of rape and kidnapping, and received two life sentences plus 20 years.  “To the gang members and people who do gun violence – we’ve got a gang too. To the child molesters and sexual predators, we’re watching and we’re ready,” said Williams this week.  The new unit taking prosecution in the Augusta area very seriously has public safety RISING…
