In response to the city’s most recent shooting that saw a 12 year old boy killed near Atlantic Station in Midtown Atlanta, City Councilwoman Keisha Sean Waites is proposing that the city adopt a 7PM curfew for kids 17 and under. Nearly 60 children under 18 years old have been shot in metro Atlanta in 2022. Critics though say 7PM is too early, and that it would overstretch an already thin Atlanta Police Department. Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120.
